- how porous the timber is
- how severe the mould growth is
- whether the surface is rough-sawn or smooth
- whether you are spraying lightly or saturating the area
For a typical outdoor mould remover on timber cladding, a practical estimate is:
- Light mould / maintenance clean:
~8–12 m² per litre - Moderate mould contamination:
~5–8 m² per litre - Heavy mould or very absorbent/weathered timber:
~3–5 m² per litre
Rough-sawn cedar, old pine, or dry weathered timber usually absorbs much more product than painted smooth cladding.
